The day my heart stopped

So, yesterday Shawn and I survived every parents worst nightmare. Kirra disappeared and we couldn't find her.

I was standing at the door to the garage telling Shawn something when I realized that Kirra was being way to quiet, which we all know means that they are doing something that they shouldn't be. Then I hear a door open and shut, so I start doing the search of all the favorite places to hide. Ten minutes later, I still can't find her and I realize that the front door is unlocked. Then your heart stops. Is this the door I heard open and shut? I run out to the garage to tell Shawn that I can't find her. Shawn runs in and we do another search of the house and then he takes off in the car to see if she is taking a walk around the block. Which leaves me to make the hardest phone call, calling the police to tell them that my child is missing.

After I hang up, I fall to the floor, I just can't stand up any more and I sobbed and I prayed and I prayed. About five minutes later, I hear the light in the stairwell being turned off and on, I look down the stairs and there is Kirra playing with the light switch. I run down and grab her and call the police to let them know that I found her and she's okay. Shawn of course didn't take his cell phone with him as he's driving around the neighborhood, so I just sat there and held Kirra tight until he came home.

We probably looked like some cliche out of a movie, but we both just sat on the floor and hugged her and cried. She's looking at us like we are crazy and then asks why we are sad. She thought that we were mad at her and so she hid really good huh? She still wont tell us where she was hiding.

All that and I STILL didn't go into labor! Shawn said that was his second thought after I told him I couldn't find Kirra. "Please don't let my wife go into labor while our daughter is missing."
